Hi Cougar Fans!
It is hard to believe that we are almost in May! It has been an amazing year for Cougar athletics, and we are finishing strong.
Softball:
The Cougars are district champs!!! With 2 games left to play, the Cougars are undefeated, and have wrapped up the district title. Tonight at Cougar Field is going to be special. Coach Kight, who has been at Cy Creek for 30 years, will be coaching his final home game. He reached the 400 win mark earlier this year, and is going out in style! Head out to the Cougar field at 6 to catch his final home game, and watch this amazing team.
Boys Golf:
It was a fight to the finish in the Boys district golf championship with the Cougars edging out Stratford by 1 stroke to finish 2nd and move on the regionals which start this week. Sophomore Rex Hargrove won the individual district championship for the Cougars! Regionals are wide open so it will be exciting to see how the Cougars perform. They are a young with 3 sophomores, 1 junior, and 1 senior.
Girls Soccer:
The girls won the bi-district championship this year before losing to a very strong Seven Lakes team. It was a great year with the ladies returning to the playoffs and picking up a playoff win. They battled all season, and it was great to see their hard work pay off with a playoff win.
Girls Golf:
The ladies had a very good showing in the district tournament finishing 4th. The ladies played very well, and also have a strong team returning next year.
Track:
The boys and girls both have multiple athletes who have moved on the regional meet. Make sure to follow us on Twitter for updates on how our individual students are performing. We had several district and area champs, and are looking forward to the regional meet this weekend. Region 3 is the fastest in the state of TX so it is going to be exciting.
Baseball:
The baseball team continues to battle every night. We are 4-6 in district play and have 2 big series left against Memorial and Jersey Village. The Cougars are on the outside looking in at the playoffs right now, but if the pieces fall into place over the next 2 weeks, we can still make a run for that 4th spot.
Thank you for all of your support! The Cougars have won 3 district championships, and have had many teams win playoff games this year. It has been the Year of the Cougars!
