Hello Cougar Fans!
It was a great homecoming week last week for the Cougars. We had a great event at Swanny’s, Volleyball won both of their games, and we had a packed stadium Friday night for the football game! While we didn’t get the win on the field, our students were amazing, and had a great time. We have a lot of great things happening and some big events coming up!
Dunk or Treat – 10/29 from 6-7:30 at Cy Creek:
Free candy, games, costume contests, and meet our girls and boys basketball teams. This is a great event for the entire community so bring your kids out! Also, if you own a small business, and would like to set up a booth to advertise and pass out candy, please send me an email, and we will get you set up. This is a great way to get in front of a lot of people in the community.
Volleyball:
It was a huge week for the Cougars as they won two 5 set matches over Memorial and Jersey Village. The Cougars finished up the first half of district play tied for 2nd at 5-2. We have a home game tonight vs Northbrook, and then a huge game Friday against 6-1 Cy Fair.
We need everyone out there Friday night at 5:30. It is a black out game so put on your black shirts, and come out to support the Cougars. Our crowds have been amazing this year, but let’s make this one the biggest and loudest of the season. It is also senior night so we will have the chance to recognize our seniors.
Football:
The young Cougars are getting better every week, but unfortunately we could not pull off the win vs Cy-Fair on Friday night. The Bobcats came in needing a win after dropping their first district game, and were able to get an early lead, and then hang on in the 4th for a 37-25 win. The Cougars continue to show improvement from early in the season as is to be expected with so many new faces to the varsity level. It is going to be a tight playoff race down the stretch.
Thursday night we play at home vs Cy Ridge. This is a big game as we chase a playoff spot.
Cross Country:
Cross Country continues to prepare for districts. We have a lot of kids running a lot of good times, and they are excited for districts. We will keep you updated on any regional or state qualifiers over the next few weeks.
Thank you for all of the support!
