Volleyball Starts Season with a Bang!

Even though we are still in the August heat, fall sports have started at Cy Creek.  The Cougar volleyball team matched that August heat by finishing 8-0 at this years Mac Attack volleyball tourney.  The Cougars finished last year as the runner up, and they came in determined to improve on that finish.

The Cougars started with a tough 2-1 win over Freeman, and finished in style, sweeping Heights 2-0, sweeping the Bulldogs with scores of 25-18 and 25-17.

Throughout the 8 matches, the Cougars only dropped 2 sets while winning 16, mostly in dominant fashion.

This was the first tournament head coaching experience for new head coach, Talicia Lang, and she pushed all the right buttons as the Cougars improved through the tournament.

After the championship match, the Cougars swept the MVP awards with Seniors Shelby Brown and Devyn Wilkes both taking home MVP honors. The Cougars are back in action this weekend at the Aggieland Classic in College Station.
