Hi Cougar Fans!
The spring semester is off to a great start! This is the busiest time of the year for Cougar athletics with basketball, soccer, baseball, softball, wrestling, tennis, and track all going strong. Here are some updates of where we stand!
Spring Cougar Day:
Watch for more to come, but this is set for 1/29 at 2 PM. Details will follow
Boys Soccer:
It has been an amazing start for our boys soccer team. They are red hot, and have started the season at 7-0! They play an exciting brand of soccer, and are clicking as a team early in the season. You are going to want to get out and watch this team play! We have a home game Tuesday night at 7:30. Come out and support them!
Girls Soccer:
The girls are looking for back to back playoff appearances. The girls have started a little slow, but are young and are improving every game. They are going to be in the race once district play comes around.
Girls basketball:
Our ladies were counted out early this season after losing 5 seniors from last year’s state finalist, but they have risen to the challenge, and finished the first half of district undefeated at 7-0. We have moved back into the top 25 of the state, and are now ranked #25. We have a big game coming up on Tuesday night against Cy Fair. Drumline will be there, and we will have free pizza for students as well as T-shirts for sale. It is going to be a great time so come out and support the Cougars!
Boys basketball:
The boys are currently in a 4-way tie for first at 4-1. We lost a heartbreaker in overtime to Stratford, who is also 4-1. The boys travel to Cy-Fair Tuesday night for a showdown with the 4-1 Bobcats
Wrestling:
If you follow us on Twitter, you have seen that our wrestlers are having a great year as they prepare for district and regionals. We have a great chance to have multiple wrestlers qualify for state! There is a great match coming up on 1/27 at Cy-Fair. It is the annual match that honors our veterans and troops, and starts at 5 PM at Cy-Fair. It is a great event so come out and support!
Baseball and softball have their tryouts this week, and will be on the field soon. Keep an eye on our twitter for updates on both teams.
Thank you for all of the support! Come out and support your Cougars!!
Ahh CC!
